City Inspiration in Berlin and Bread & Butter trip 2017
City Inspiration - Berlin
Gaining inspiration and personally meeting brands is the core to our mission, with the &then team dedicating some well-deserved time out of the office to travel to the creative and captivating city of Berlin.
With the main reason to go to Bread & Butter there was also a great opportunity to visit some captivating conceptual spaces around the city as well as to chat to the people behind the brands. With a focus on the district of Mitte we spent two full days exploring and meeting many of the independent brands across this neighbourhood including ‘Paper + Tea’, ‘Mazooka’, ‘Viu’ and ‘Papier in Mitte’, to name just a few.
In the early afternoon, we grabbed a coffee at the ‘Chipperfields Kantine’ before heading to probably the world’s best book store, “Do you read me, Berlin” where we were obliged to add to our design book library.
With our feet tiring we took some time out to enjoy a couple of beers in the inspiring Copenhagen-founded bar ‘Mikkeller’ before heading to one of our favourite restaurants, ’Lokal' and 'Spindler’, finally ending our night with exceptional views of the city from atop of the Soho House.
The next morning we headed to Bread & Butter, the exhibition has evolved since its new look relaunch last year with the event growing in size with many more brands involved. With a huge focus on experiential and customisation we spent a lot of time getting a feel for the brands on show before the musical element of the exhibition came to life seeing sets from by Wyclef Jean and M.I.A.
With a vision on inspiring and influencing the industry we live in, we look to travelling the world to gain inspiration as a key part of evolving our ideas and a platform for sharing. Any recommendations on where to go next, let us know: email@example.com
